Long An, July 28, 2023 - As part of the activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2023), Nam Long held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Vietnam-Japan Friendship House and launched the planting of the Heritage Forest in the Waterpoint integrated township (Ben Luc, Long An).
The event was attended by former President Truong Tan Sang; Nguyen Van Duoc, Secretary of the Long And Provincial Party Committee; Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City Ono Masuo; along with representatives from the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee of Long An; leaders of Japanese localities and businesses investing in Long An province, among others.
The Vietnam-Japan Friendship House, covering an area of nearly 7,000m2, is located within the Central Park area of Waterpoint and is designed to include many areas with diverse functions such as cultural houses, restaurants, exhibition areas, and small landscapes featuring Vietnamese and Japanese cultures. The house will not only accommodate the needs of over 30,000 households in Waterpoint and the people of Long An province but is also a symbol of friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

Speaking at the event, Tran Xuan Ngoc, CEO of Nam Long Group, emphasized: "The Vietnam-Japan Friendship House promises to be a modern, valuable, and living symbol of cooperation and friendship between the two countries. We will come together to exchange cultures, learn, share experiences, and foster friendships, aiming for a bright, peaceful, and prosperous future for Vietnam and Japan."
Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony for the Vietnam-Japan Friendship House, the officials also kicked off the planting of the Heritage Forest in Waterpoint’s Central Park. According to the plan, the Heritage Forest covers over 20,000m2, simulating natural forests with reasonable heights and hundreds of green trees and open spaces that encourage outdoor activities and community connectivity.
The planting ceremony is of great significance in promoting environmental protection and resource conservation for future generations. It affirms Nam Long's commitment to sustainable development, balancing economic, social, and environmental values, responding to climate change, and working towards Vietnam's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

On behalf of the leaders and people of Long An province, Nguyen Van Duoc, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged the support and cooperation of Nam Long Group for the province's development. He said, "Today's projects are evidence of the good relationship between Vietnam and Japan in general, and between Long An province and Japanese businesses in particular. The Long And provincial government will create the best conditions for the investor to complete the project on schedule."
On the Japanese side, Mr. Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his happiness about the development of relations between the two countries. He believed that today's event would bring unique cultural experiences to people and expand cooperation opportunities for the businesses of Vietnam and Japan. In his capacity, Ono Masuo also affirmed that he would make every effort to promote further development of economic, social, and cultural exchanges between Japan and Long An province, as well as the rapidly developing southern region.

As part of the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, a Vietnamese-Japanese cultural exhibition with many unique booths will also take place on July 28-29 at Waterpoint integrated township.
Waterpoint, covering 355 hectares, is Nam Long's largest integrated township project to date, catering to thousands of households. With over 5.8km of riverbank roads, more than 95 ha of greenery and water surfaces, and a range of facilities for living, working, studying, shopping, and entertainment, Waterpoint is designed to be a satellite city that supports population dispersal from Ho Chi Minh City, while contributing to a modern and convenient urban landscape and improving the quality of life for people in Long An province.
