13th June, 2012

Nam Long Investment Corporation offcially launched its Nam Long-Vam Co Dong urban area project in Ben Luc District, Long An Province on May 28, 2011. Covering an area of 355 hectares, the project is expected to be a model urban area of the province in particular as well as the nation in general.

Located in the heart of Ben Luc District, Nam Long-Vam Co Dong can be called the gateway between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the Mekong Delta owing to lying in the west of the National Highway 1A and connecting directly with the Ho Chi Minh City-Trung Luong Expressway. These are the country’s two key traffc works that link 32 cities and provinces, and shorten the distance between Nam Long-Vam Co Dong and Vietnam’s central urban areas. It takes you only 30 minutes driving from there to the downtown area in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1.

Nam Long-Vam Co Dong, whose three faces are surrounded by water, is an ideal ecological environment for such a riverside peninsula. Besides being next to the largest Vietnam’s entertainment property Happy Land, Nam Long-Vam Co Dong is planned as a private city with full public facilities for habitants to experience from the inside area.

The new urban area is designed for people to see the whole view of the river and built into functioning sections such as a recreation zone with nine-hole golf course, marina, cultural park, sports club, hospital, shopping mall, international conference center, high-tech park, religious works, public facilities and an educational area following international standards.

A representative of Nam Long Corp. said that they organized an international design competition for the urban project to ensure appropriate planning. Competitors including well-known design consultant companies from Australia, Spain, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia as well as others joined the artistic, creative, challenging and practical contest by Nam Long.

“After considering and we partnered with Australia-based Conybeare Morrison International CM+ to develop the Nam Long-Vam Co Dong project as a significant living area,” the source added.

The urban area is divided into four segments, in which 37% of land to be used for housing consisting of villas, row houses, high-end apartments, affordable houses such as E-home; 30% of land for planting and sports zone; 18% for public works, services and technological works; and 15% for traffic works.

Granted Certificate No. 50121000082 issued by the People’s Committee of Long An Province on October 28, 2009; and ratified on planning decision No. 1/2000 on December 16, 2010, the project is entering the first period of development.
